Matthews for over 20 years.

~She founded and runs a facility called
My Wellness Place, within which
wellness professionals see their clients
For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed and gravitated
toward working with others so they feel their best. I was clear
at an early age that I would become a massage therapist. I
graduated from The Southeastern School of Neuromuscular
and Massage in 1998 when I was 18. In addition to obtaining
my BA in Psychology and Sociology in 2001, I have completed
continuing education for therapeutic massage including: Caring
for Clients with Cancer, Cupping Massage, Ethics,
Fundamental CranioSacral, Hot Stone Massage, Spa
Treatments, Fundamentals of Prenatal Massage and Couples
Massage Training.

My clients range from those who have postural distortions and
chronic pain to those who appreciate having the opportunity to
pamper themselves. Independent of the reason for their visit
(whether it be to get the knot out from behind their shoulder
blade - or to have an hour when they don't have to worry about
the stresses of their day-to-day life - or to have positive
physical contact without the worry of being judged), every
session . . . every client is important.

Through my over twenty years as a massage therapist, I have
worked in spa, chiropractic, and alternative medicine facility
settings. I firmly believe that atmosphere can increase the
benefits of any therapy. When deciding how to create My
Wellness Place
, the facility in which My Next Massage is
located, I drew from my experience of the various settings I
have worked. I deigned My Wellness Place to be the ideal
setting for
my therapy business, my clients and the business
and clients of other practitioners. Dim lights, soothing music,
and comfortable surroundings help us to forget the outside
world and focus on our own healing.

I look forward to meeting you for your next massage therapy
session.

. . . I believe there is an interconnection between our body, our
mind, and our spirit.

I believe that we have a natural ability to heal ourselves. I believe
that touch is a fundamental pathway to healing. By healing, I do
not mean curing diseases. I mean that something that was
missing before (acceptance, patience, peace, connection) is now
present and makes a difference to the whole of the person.

To me, moments of healing include:
the body, mind and spirit are in balance
accepting oneself as they are
a sense that there is no where else to get to
acceptance, peace and connection . . . <Read More>
